Established in 1977, the Children's Council of Watauga County, Inc. builds upon the strengths of children, families, and educators by investing resources, information, and training toward promoting the future health and success of our greatest community asset: Our Children. All of the programs, from prenatal to age 12, concentrate on child development to prepare children to be ready to succeed in school.

The Watauga County Emergency and Rescue Squad, Inc. proudly serves over 50,000 residents within 313 square miles. We are the back-up ambulance service and the primary rescue service (extrication, carry-outs, searches, specialized rescue) for Watauga County, NC. Our non-paid volunteers maintain and staff a fleet of 2 ALS ambulances, 2 rescue trucks, 1 quick response vehicle, 1 specialty rescue unit, and associated equipment. Together, the Watauga Rescue Squad provides service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year at no charge to those served.

Watauga Rescue Squad relies heavily upon donations from the community and fundraisers for financial support. With community support, Watauga Rescue Squad will continue to provide rescue and emergency medical services to all our neighbors free of charge. Since 1961, we're here to serve you.
